A standard SRL arrests a fall and that's it. The 3-Way SRL does that — and when the situation demands it, it also lowers a worker to safety or enables emergency retrieval via winch mode. For confined space entry on a ladder, fixed structure, or while being mechanically lowered, OSHA requires an independent lifeline. The 3-Way satisfies that requirement while adding retrieval capability that a standard SRL cannot provide.
Before You Deploy
Hitch Mode is Emergency Only
The raising and lowering function of the 3-Way SRL is for emergency rescue only. It must not be used for routine daily raising and lowering of workers. For everyday personnel entry and retrieval, use the Personnel Hoists.
Re-Certification & Fall Replacement
The 3-Way SRL requires re-certification every 3 years. If the unit has been used in a fall arrest event — even if it appears undamaged — it must be replaced immediately before being returned to service. The stress indicator helps identify prior fall use.
