Hoists

Three hoists built around three different confined space scenarios — routine entry and retrieval, emergency rescue, and equipment lowering. All mount to Pelsue anchor systems via the same quick-release bracket system.

Personnel Hoist

Routine Entry & Retrieval

The standard hoist for confined space entry. Designed and tested as a mechanical retrieval and lifting device per OSHA 1910.146 and ANSI Z117.1 — man-rated to 310 lb for the controlled raising and lowering of personnel. A double-pawl braking system provides continuous braking, backed by a secondary centrifugal overspeed brake that engages if the pawls fail. Line only pays out with a counterclockwise handle turn under at least 10 lb of applied force — accidental line release is not possible. Available with stainless steel cable (best for most applications) or Technora® synthetic rope (for environments where electrical conductivity is a concern). Three line lengths: 70′, 100′, and 150′. Made in USA.

Equipment Hoist

Equipment Lowering & Retrieval

Rated to 700 lb for the everyday lowering and retrieval of tools, equipment, and materials into confined spaces. Attaches to the same Pelsue anchorage points as the personnel hoists via the standard quick-release bracket — no separate rigging required. Available with stainless steel cable or Technora® synthetic rope. The swivel double-locking snap hook on the end fitting is standard; alternate end fittings are available on request. Must never be used to raise or lower personnel. Not to be operated over areas where people are present.

Quick Rescue Hoist

Rescue & Emergency Retrieval

Built for the scenario where a worker needs to be rescued but isn't already attached to a hoist. The rope is not fixed to the drum — instead, a rope-gripping cleat lets the rescue line be placed at any point along its length and immediately tensioned. No slack to take up. No waiting. In a toxic atmosphere, minutes matter. Also solves a specific roadside vault problem: since the entrant is not tethered to a fixed external point, a passing vehicle striking the equipment won't drag the worker. Available in two variants: PHQR (under-drum rope load, handle on left) and PHQRR (over-drum/reverse, handle on right). Technora® rope only. Max 70′. Weight: 21.5 lbs.

Add the Right Hoist to Your Setup

Every hoist needs a compatible anchor system and the correct mounting bracket. Our safety specialists confirm the complete combination — anchor, hoist, bracket, and SRL — before you order, so nothing gets left off the quote.

1

Choose Your Hoist

Personnel Hoists for routine entry, Equipment Hoist for equipment lowering, Quick Rescue Hoist for emergency rescue

2

Select Line Type & Length

Stainless steel for most applications, Technora® where electrical conductivity is a risk.

3

Confirm Your Bracket

MB-PF1 for LifeGuard or Davit. MB-TL1 for Tripod. Wrong bracket voids rated capacity.

4

Add an SRL

An independent lifeline (3-Way or Standard SRL) is required alongside the hoist for OSHA compliance.
